Recording Artist and Award Nominee for The Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Coco O’Connor Boasts Independent Music Doesn't Need Corporate Backing
Coco O’Connor, International recording artist and new age ambient vocalist acknowledged today her support of the evolution of Independent music in recent years, after her award nomination for “new age ambient” song at The Hollywood Music In Media Awards being held November 19, 2009 in Hollywood, California.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 13, 2009 -- Coco O’Connor, International recording artist and vocalist and recent award nominee for the much anticipated music event of the year, The Hollywood Music In Media Awards, today announced her nomination in the “new age ambient” category, and acknowledged the evolution of independent music in recent years.
“I feel like I’ve conquered Hollywood just be being nominated!” boasted Coco O’Connor. “Because there is so much talent in the industry -- to get acknowledged alongside top notch artists who have been creating amazing music for so long -- it is yet another indicator of where the technology is taking music.”
In today’s quickly growing Independent music world, a struggling recording artist no longer has to go into a huge studio and spend thousands of dollars to record an album.
“TV is the new radio for independent artists,” commented O’Connor. “It’s the new way of getting out there as far as music goes. It’s no longer a matter of having a huge record label anymore because the technology allows for any artist to get his or her name out there, whether it be television, social media, or instant digital downloads.”
Only a few years back, producers would have to license a U2 album at a very costly price. However with today’s Independent music fans hungry for new music, producers save millions by showcasing an Indie artist who wants the exposure. It’s a win-win-win for the market, the producer and the artist.
